About The Position
Monash University Library is seeking a dynamic Academic Services Lead to join their team. This role involves acting as a strategic architect for library services in a fast-paced, agile environment. The Academic Services Lead will lead a dedicated team of professional librarians, transforming how the library supports researchers and educators.
Requirements
- Sophisticated communicator and seasoned project navigator who thrives in a matrix environment.
- Deep understanding of the research and education landscape in Higher Education.
- Proven experience managing teams through complexity with empathy and clear direction.
- Ability to drive project lifecycles from ideation to implementation, ensuring high standards and mitigated risks.
- Knack for using data and performance measures to streamline reporting and provide expert advice to management.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Librarianship, Information Management, or Education (qualifying for ALIA membership), or possess an equivalent blend of extensive management expertise and professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a high-performing team of 7–9 librarians, fostering a culture of creative thinking, trust, and professional growth.
- Drive the design and delivery of scalable, sustainable programs using agile methodologies and project-based ways of working.
- Act as a crucial conduit between Library Business Partners and Academic Services Librarians, ensuring services align with the university’s evolving priorities.
- Stay at the forefront of global trends, ensuring Monash remains a leader in research and education support.
