The Gould School of Law is seeking to hire an Academic Services Coordinator to join the Office of Academic Services. This role assists in conceptualizing, planning, preparing, and coordinating curriculum development and revision activities for the school. It involves developing and refining curriculum minors in collaboration with faculty, and receiving, reviewing, and analyzing requests for changes in course and degree programs and academic policies and procedures. The coordinator advises deans, department chairs, faculty, and department staff on submission requirements and assists them in preparing and presenting new or modified courses and programs, and requests for policy changes. They determine proposal acceptability for review and schedule them for review by appropriate university committees. Additionally, the role involves preparing and maintaining accurate degree progress summaries for students, preparing credit summaries, updating the student record computer system, and generating requested documents or reports. The coordinator responds to student and staff inquiries regarding registration, course scheduling, degree checks, transcripts, diplomas, academic status, and petitions. They also counsel students on transfer credit evaluations and degree requirements, provide alternative solutions, and prepare documentation for student petitions. The position assists with the preparation and dissemination of bulletins, newsletters, handbooks, guides, fact sheets, brochures, and online content related to academic services. It also supports the planning and administration of final exams, coordination of class and final exam scheduling, and processing of grades. The role includes assisting with coverage of the department's reception area, updating the department's policy and procedure manual, and training student workers. The coordinator liaises with Publications to ensure accurate recording of school actions in the catalogue and schedule of classes, and conducts periodic course reviews. They ensure detailed records are maintained and coordinate their organization, maintenance, storage, and retrieval. The position requires staying current on ABA and school-wide standards, policies, procedures, and regulations, and assisting with program policy and procedure development and implementation. Finally, the role involves assisting with final exam administration and proctoring at the end of semesters and commencement, and performing other related duties as assigned.
