About The Position

The College of Education seeks a proactive, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide essential support for program operations, student services, and faculty needs. This part-time, hourly position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and values both structure and flexibility. The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in managing documentation, communication, and organizational processes that are vital to the success of our students, faculty, and external partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma: some college coursework preferred.
  • Previous administrative or office experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software as needed.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute and manage Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) for interns and internship certificate students.
  • Update and maintain student teacher/intern and mentor handbooks.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for incoming calls, providing accurate program information and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Collect and organize forms, certification documentation, background checks, and TB shot records.
  • Prepare and distribute new student packets.
  • Assist with adjunct and mentor contracts.
  • Organize files and establish organizational procedures.
  • Maintain state department documentation and records.
  • Contact prospective students to answer questions and explain online program pathways.
  • Support regular communication with students, including sending monthly program updates, quarterly newsletters, and assisting with event planning.
  • Supports NGU’s mission statement and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with a biblical model.
  • Affirm an understanding of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
  • Affirm understanding of the University’s Statement on Human Flourishing
  • Agree to abide by the employee handbooks, including community standards agreements.
