About The Position

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time psychiatrist in the General Adult Psychiatry and Health Systems Division. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate or full Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is July 1, 2026 or shortly thereafter. Duties will include working 3 days per week in the borderline personality disorder clinic and 2 days per week in other general adult psychiatry outpatient settings. The academic role will focus on teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, developing quality improvement.

The successful candidate will provide exemplary team-based psychiatric care for people with mood, anxiety and trauma related disorders and overall general adult psychiatry assessment. The candidate will also be expected to participate in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs of the University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry.

The applicant will have a desire to work in and contribute to an active academic environment, with a commitment and experience in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The candidate will have demonstrated experience working with patients with borderline personality disorder and training in dialectical behaviour therapy.

Requirements

• Applicants must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD)
• Must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
• Must be eligible for academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Toronto
• English language proficiency is required
• Demonstrated experience working with patients with borderline personality disorder and training in dialectical behaviour therapy

Responsibilities

• Working 3 days per week in the borderline personality disorder clinic
• Working 2 days per week in other general adult psychiatry outpatient settings
