About The Position

The Academic Program Officer supports academic program administration operations and its transformation within Teaching and Academic Programs. This role involves project management, effective communication, and integrated planning among staff supporting this area in TAP and within Faculties. The position reports to the Director (Operations and Academic Programs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 Years Related Experience
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec
  • Knowledge of English (Level # on a scale of 0-4)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the administration and transformation of work on academic programs within the unit to ensure planning is integrated with the strategic direction of the University.
  • Follow up on academic program decisions and act as direct liaison different stakeholders within TAP, McGill, and externally.
  • Develop and review processes and procedures to ensure they are in compliance with University guidelines. Streamline and improve processes related to work documents.
  • Plan and organize meetings including developing agenda, preparing and disseminating supporting documents, establishing timelines and ensuring committee mandated follow-up takes place.
  • Prepare reports for APC, Senate, and other governance bodies, as required.
  • Develop post-meeting reports and evaluation procedures to ensure constant improvement and operationalize lessons learned.
  • Review and analyze new program and major revision proposals; make recommendations on appropriate pathways and ensure that proposals are in compliance with University and MES regulations.
  • Liaise with Ministry of Higher Education and Bureau de Cooperation Universitaire (BCI) regarding proposals requiring external consultation/approval and advise Faculty representatives.
  • Review existing policies and recommend changes and updates, as appropriate.
  • Review and advise on revisions to the existing programs & report to the MES.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve new program and major revision processes and documents.
  • Conduct research and formulate recommendations to integrate new tools and technology to implement positive changes (i.e., dashboards, interactive forms, etc.).
  • Undertakes special projects at the request of the Director.
