About The Position

The Center for Digital Humanities (CDH) at Princeton seeks an Academic Program Administrator (APA) to support all aspects of CDH academic and co-curricular programs for graduate and undergraduate students. Working closely with CDH leadership, faculty, students, and administrative partners across campus, the APA ensures the smooth execution and growth of CDH’s curricular offerings, fellowships, events, and student engagement initiatives. CDH currently serves approximately 40 graduate students and 100 undergraduates annually through courses, fellowships, independent research support, awards, and consultations. The APA helps administer the full lifecycle of the graduate program—including the Graduate Certificate in Digital Humanities, fellowships, and awards. They administer existing CDH undergraduate initiatives and support CDH’s expansion of undergraduate programs. The APA monitors and reports on student funding expenditures in coordination with the Center Manager. The APA maintains CDH’s outreach communications and outreach channels to students and student activities, and promotes student-facing events and opportunities. This is a benefits eligible, part time (50% time, 10-month position (August-June) for a one-year term. This position reports to the Executive Director, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Digital Humanities Strategist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of work experience.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information in a discreet manner.
  • Highly effective organizational skills; excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to make presentations to faculty, staff, leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work independently.
  • Advanced level of competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, G-suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an academic environment, familiarity with academic program administration, and experience managing fellowship or grant cycles.
  • Working knowledge of Princeton University applications, especially PeopleSoft, Stellic, and other student management software.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking student progress and maintaining student records.
  • Communicating program updates to stakeholders
  • Coordinating CDH-led and cross-listed graduate courses.
  • Managing graduate fellowships and grants.
  • Planning and executing graduate events.
  • Managing student outreach lists and student-related website content.
  • Providing administrative support for all undergraduate opportunities
  • Coordinating and promoting CDH cross-listed undergraduate courses.
  • Supporting the development and evaluation of new undergraduate initiatives.
  • Contributing to research, analysis, and reporting on undergraduate engagement and expansion strategies.
  • Supporting CDH's administrative operations and special projects as needed, such as planning, scheduling, managing and overseeing events, projects or activities.
