The Academic Coordinator assesses participant academic needs and develops individualized student success plans to support educational goals. Coordinates academic advising, mentoring, and college and career readiness services with target schools and community partners. Monitors participant progress provides intervention and testing. Develops educational resources and programming that promote academic achievement and postsecondary goals for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years working with first-generation and low-income students, secondary academic advising experience, and experience documenting academic progress of middle and high school students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Self-motivation and self-discipline to work without direct supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of postsecondary admission and financial aid processes is preferred.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have demonstrated success in overcoming barriers similar to those encountered by low-income, first-generation students.

Responsibilities

  • 30% Coordinate academic and mentoring services with target schools and community partners. Travels to the target schools and communities. Target schools/ communities include Stephenville, Dublin, Three Way, Cranfills Gap, Gorman, Eastland, Cisco, Hico, Hamilton, Meridian, Morgan, and Walnut Springs.
  • 25% Assess student academic needs and create Individual Educational Plans
  • 20% Process academic documentation and academic progress
  • 25% Develop educational resources
