About The Position

Ohio Wesleyan University, a selective private liberal arts institution, is seeking an Academic Coach for its Bishop ACCESS program. This fee-based program provides an additional level of academic support for students. The Academic Coach will work one-on-one and in small groups to assist students in navigating university life, improving study skills, and completing assignments that require planning, goal setting, and self-management. This is a part-time position that runs through the academic year, from mid-August to early May.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment in a flexible and calm manner
• Ability to work with a variety of personalities and constituents
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Commitment to customer service
• Knowledge of OWU Campus, policies, procedures, and resources
• Complete and pass background check

Responsibilities

• Meet weekly with assigned Bishop ACCESS students
• Maintain student records
• Communicate regularly with students’ success networks
• Oversee study and tutoring sessions
• Conduct and develop program workshops
• Learn accessible technology and software applications
