Bishop Access Academic Coach
About The Position
Ohio Wesleyan University, a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts institution founded in 1842, is seeking an Academic Coach for the Bishop ACCESS program within the Sagan Academic Resource Center. Bishop ACCESS is a fee-based academic coaching program designed to provide an additional level of support for students. The Academic Coach will work one-on-one and in small groups with students to assist them in navigating university life, improving study skills, and completing academic work that requires planning, goal setting, and self-management. This is a part-time position that will run through the academic year, from mid-August to early May.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment in a flexible and calm manner
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities and constituents
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Commitment to customer service
- Knowledge of OWU Campus, policies, procedures, and resources
- Complete and pass background check
Responsibilities
- Meet weekly with assigned Bishop ACCESS students
- Maintain student records
- Communicate regularly with students’ success networks
- Oversee study and tutoring sessions
- Conduct and develop program workshops
- Learn accessible technology and software applications
