About The Position

The Academic Coach provides students with academic support through guidance in college readiness, study skills, and general success strategies. The role involves meeting with students individually for one-time or weekly appointments, identifying strategies suited to each student's academic situation, and connecting students with relevant Learning Commons, Bowling Green State University, or external resources. The position also requires maintaining appointment records in an electronic system.

Requirements

• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Knowledge of successful study strategies.
• Demonstrate a professional demeanor while working with clients.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students individually for one-time or weekly appointments.
• Maintain records of appointments in an electronic system.
• Provide relevant success strategies tailored to each student's academic situation.
• Refer students to other Learning Commons resources.
• Refer students to appropriate BGSU and external resources as needed.
