About The Position

The Academic Center Facilitator will work with TCP students before and/or after school 2-3 times a week. The role involves creating a safe and welcoming space where students can get a snack and feel comfortable asking for help with homework or preparing for assessments. The goal is to build student independence by encouraging study groups, pairs, and teaching good study habits.

Requirements

• Content expertise in math (AP Calculus teaching experience not required but familiarity with middle and high school math topics is needed)
• Experience working effectively with students and staff of various cultures and linguistic backgrounds
• Ability to foster growth mindset and excitement about learning mathematics

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and welcoming environment, one in which students embrace mistakes and can learn from struggle
• Maintain regular communication with TCP coordinator, Caitlin Flanagan
• Monitor student attendance and encourage students to participate
• Support students 1:1 or in small groups as necessary
