Academic Advisor (Student Services Professional II)
About The Position
The Student Services Professional II (SSP II) performs moderately complex professional student services work to support student success. This role involves direct academic advising for majors and minors within NSC departments/programs, assisting students in making timely progress toward their degree objectives using basic interviewing and counseling techniques. The SSP II will target outreach to current and incoming students, assist with the NSC Student Success Center, and in collaboration with the Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, organize and supervise the mathematics tutoring program and the math learning lab.
Requirements
- Two years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
- Graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
Nice To Haves
- History of effectively establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships within a diverse student population.
- Experience hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating students or staff.
Responsibilities
