Under the supervision of the Director of Global Undergraduate Academic Advising, this position delivers student-focused academic advising to undergraduate students enrolled in pathway programs offered on Northeastern network campuses, including identifying students’ interests, abilities, and academic goals. Academic Advisors working with undergraduate students attending a Northeastern undergraduate pathway program will be responsible for general program advising across the portfolio of degree programs offered and work in partnership with the advising units from each program’s home college on the Boston campus. Academic Advisors assist in identifying struggling or at-risk students, including making appropriate referrals to other college resources; provide schedule-building support, registration assistance, add/drop or withdrawal assistance, and major declaration guidance; maintain detailed student records; participate in recruitment activities, programs, and initiatives, including providing advising information to prospective students and orientation advising; participate in departmental and committee meetings as appropriate for supporting assigned students; develop and coordinate relationships with various offices on campus to better serve students; and facilitate multiple sections of the Introduction to College course. The Academic Advisor works to foster a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all undergraduate pathway program students.
