About The Position

The College Academic Advisor for First Year Advising provides meaningful, holistic student support, and academic guidance to Newcomb-Tulane College (NTC) first-time freshman and contributes directly to the successful transition of all new NTC students. This position executes innovative engagement opportunities for first year students through programming, drop-in advising, and campus partnership events, some of which will occur on nights and weekends. The College Academic Advisor collaborates with students, colleagues, and campus partners to address challenges, offer solutions, and ensure students successfully progress through their chosen academic programs and thrive during their first year within Newcomb-Tulane College. Additionally, this position completes success coaching training within the first 18 months of employment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Experience in academic advising or student support
Experience working with first-year students
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, and campus partners
Willingness to work some nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in a related field
Experience with innovative engagement strategies
Experience in success coaching
