About The Position

The Academic Advisor for the Entry Level Programs in the Keigwin School of Nursing works in a team-based environment to assist in admissions, enrollment, and advising for students in the campus-based undergraduate nursing programs.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Critical thinking
Problem-solving
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
Bachelor’s Degree
Will train for minimum work experience

Knowledge of the nursing profession and educational requirements

Responsibilities

Complete task assigned by the Assistant Director of Entry Level Enrollment in the admissions processes for programs in the Keigwin School of Nursing undergraduate programs.
Evaluate applicants for admission to the Keigwin School of Nursing entry level programs.
Assist in orientation activities for each entering cohort.
Assist the Assistant Director of Entry Level Enrollment to counsel students regarding eligibility, course schedule recommendations, and progression in undergraduate nursing programs.
Advise entry level nursing students for registration, program progression, and fulfillment of degree requirements.
Tracks retention and collects metrics for Entry Level (undergraduate) ABSN nursing programs and collaborates with administration to implement effective retention strategies.
Counsels alongside with Academic Advising for pre-nursing students interested in the major and preparing needed requirements.
Serve as a liaison to faculty for Entry level nursing programs.
Assist in the collection of metrics regarding undergraduate nursing students’ race, ethnicity, gender, employment as necessary for accreditation and university reporting.
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Assistant Director of Entry Level Enrollment.
