Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years related experience in a responsible administrative support role, performing data management and complex coordination.
  • Experience with curriculum design and evaluation, committee support and report writing.
  • Proven ability in advising and providing guidance to students.
  • Experience with enrollment planning and associated processes.
  • Experience with course scheduling and time tabling.
  • Experience with petitions, non-compliance, and appeals
  • Strong skills in the use of tools including Degree Explorer, ROSI, and Timetable Builder.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel), ROSI, Acorn, Degree Explorer or comparable software.
  • Strong data management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with accurate grammar, spelling and proofreading.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact with faculty, students and professional colleagues in a tactful, professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet external deadlines and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Advising students on program and/or course requirements by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters while considering personal circumstances impacting academic success
  • Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course eligibility, requirements, procedures, policies, and deadlines
  • Reviewing and assessing proposals for minor modifications to programs and courses
  • Analyzing and making recommendations for program enhancements
  • Writing and editing reports to support curriculum initiatives, including expressions of interest and other major curriculum modifications, and creating curriculum maps
