Abstraction Operations Coordinator

We’re looking for an Abstraction Operations Coordinator to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer. Are you ready to be the next changemaker in cancer care? Much of the available, real-world clinical data is unstructured and stored across thousands of disconnected community clinics, medical centers, and hospitals. In this role, you'll work with the Abstraction Operations team to support the operations, performance and capacity of our growing remote workforce of abstractors - primarily nurses, tumor registrars, and clinical research professionals - who help us convert unstructured data to structured data by extracting key data points from clinical documents. As a Coordinator on the Abstraction Operations team, you will work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, facing a variety of unique and challenging problems on a daily basis. Reporting to the Manager of Unstructured Data Processing Operations, you will:
Requirements
- Experience working in an operations or tactical role
- Comfortable analyzing data using Excel/ Google sheets
- Able to easily learn new software systems and tools
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset and demonstrated ability to make data driven decisions
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to develop relationships and work effectively with a diverse variety of clinical, business, and technical collaborators across Flatiron
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing technology environment
- Passionate about healthcare and the fight against cancer
Responsibilities
- Oversee ongoing abstraction progress for specific deliverables each month, tracking key performance indicators in the abstraction process, and providing insight to help make data-driven decisions
- Assist in identifying trends and analyzing data to proactively highlight potential operational issues and recommend workflow solutions to improve abstraction reliability and efficiency
- Collaborate with the AbsOps team to identify new or improved processes and workflows to streamline and scale operations
- Work cross-functionally to execute on projects that improve the efficiency and reliability of Flatiron’s abstraction operations
