About The Position

The Ability Programs Volunteer supports YMCA programs and operations in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, helping make a difference in the community. Volunteers work with people with disabilities, from children to adults, support staff and members, and may assist with community programs, events, outreach, fundraising, or administrative tasks. Training is provided if applicable, and required clearances and training apply to volunteers assisting with YMCA programs and operations. They are not required for volunteers interested only in one-day special events, such as the Bucks County 5K or Kids Triathlon.

Scheduling is flexible. Available shifts include Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; schedules vary depending on the event. The YMCA offers a supportive team environment and opportunities to learn and grow while contributing to a nonprofit organization working to strengthen the community.

Requirements

• Must have completed 6th grade.
• Positive attitude and willingness to help.
• Dependability and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass required clearances; clearances and training are required for volunteers assisting with YMCA programs and operations, but not for volunteers participating only in one-day special events.
• No prior experience is required; training is provided if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support events and community programs.
