Requirements

  • Board-certified abdominal transplant surgeon.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a multi-organ transplant program.
  • Interest in academic medicine and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Must be board certified and eligible for unrestricted Florida medical licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical research background preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform approximately 50/50 split between liver and kidney transplantation.
  • Conduct living donor liver and kidney transplants.
  • Participate in monthly GI fellow and surgery resident rotations on the Liver Transplant Service.
  • Engage in research shaping the future of care, including organ preservation and perfusion technologies, immunosuppression minimization, living donor transplant optimization, and equity and access to transplantation.
  • Provide comprehensive training in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation as part of an ASTS-accredited Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship.
  • Offer personalized mentorship and advanced surgical exposure, including robotic and laparoscopic techniques, to fellows.
