Damar is looking for passionate people with or without experience as an ABA Therapist. ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place, using techniques like positive reinforcement. ABA Therapists follow ABA therapy techniques in specialized, client-based sessions to reach goals per the client's behavior plan. This involves duties related to verbal behavior, behavior modification, treatment plan implementation, data collection, and intervention in individual client treatment. Work will be primarily clinic-based at one of three locations in Avon, Southwest Indianapolis (near the airport), or Northeast Indianapolis (Fall Creek).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work at any of the Damar ABA clinics
  • Ability to pass and maintain Critical Moments Training (CMT) Certification
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred. Must obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 60 days of hire as outlined by the BACB and Damar requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to children diagnosed with Autism in an ABA setting using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Maintain neat, chronological documentation of all goals and behaviors
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary
  • Interact professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and others using only excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations
  • Ensure that the agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements
  • Respect the culture, diversity and rights of all clients, their families and the community
