About The Position

As an Applied Behavior Analysis Specialist (ABAS), you'll leverage the science of Applied Behavior Analysis to create impactful behavior support programs, reduce challenging behaviors, and build essential skills. You’ll conduct assessments, design data-driven plans, train caregivers, and provide hands-on support—all under the guidance of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). From analyzing behavior to managing crises, your work will make a difference across diverse settings and populations. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or psychiatric disorders.
  • Enrollment in an accredited Master’s program specializing in behavior analysis, education, or psychology.
  • Completion of a BACB-approved course sequence.
  • Eligible to accrue supervised experience hours towards and actively pursuing BCBA certification.
  • Commitment to obtaining BCBA certification and be eligible to obtain Provisional Missouri Behavior Analyst licensure (PLBA).
  • Completion of RBT 40-hour training and eligibility for the RBT initial competency assessment prior to starting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear behavior goals and measurable objectives tailored to each client.
  • Collect detailed data on client behaviors, caregiver interactions, and environmental factors.
  • Design user-friendly data collection tools and train caregivers for accurate data tracking.
  • Create customized behavior support plans, skills acquisition programs, and treatment checklists.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to graph and analyze data, making data-driven treatment decisions.
  • Share monthly updates, including graphs and summaries, with client teams.
  • Train and support caregivers to implement programming with accuracy, providing ongoing feedback.
  • Modify plans based on observations, team feedback, and client progress.
  • Develop strategies to fade supports and generalize skills across environments.
  • Provide ABA training to staff and actively participate in team and client meetings.
  • Peer-review programs, ensuring high-quality interventions across the team.
  • Work towards BCBA certification and licensure, applying BCBA feedback to all tasks.
