About The Position

The A4K High School Student Worker is responsible for being a positive role model through actions, leading, assisting with homework help and implementing recreational and creative experiences for school-age children in a group setting. This staff member will nurture and guide our K-4 students during the after-care portion of the day (2:00-3:30 p.m.). LCA hires staff who care about the spiritual and academic growth of their students, who maintain high academic standards, and who love Christ and live by biblical principles. LCA has a community of staff and faculty who join together regularly for prayer, biblical worldview training, celebrations, and staff development. Requirements

  • Possess a strong Christian faith with a solid knowledge of the Bible, a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a demonstrated character of integrity.
  • Believe and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith.
  • Possess a passion for Christian education and student discipleship.
  • Comfortable connecting biblical truths and biblical worldview perspectives to students' lives.
  • Good skills in communication, organization, and human relations.
  • Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in all situations.
  • Ability to work with all functions - administration, support staff, other faculty, and students.
  • Must be currently enrolled at Legacy as a high school student 16 or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with K-4 aged children is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Be a positive role model through actions and leadership.
  • Assist with homework help.
  • Implement recreational and creative experiences for school-age children in a group setting.
  • Nurture and guide K-4 students during the after-care portion of the day.
  • Organize and lead a variety of activities appropriate for school-age children, such as arts and crafts, and indoor and outdoor games.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, daily rosters, logbook documentation, and attendance records (when needed).
  • Manage student behavior while building positive relationships among K-4 students.
  • Perform all physical aspects of the position, including moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
