About The Position

The A&P Peer Group Study Leader provides guided study sessions for students enrolled in Morrison Family College of Health courses EXSC-213 Human Anatomy and EXSC-214 Human Physiology. The A&P Group Study Leader will work closely with faculty to develop and facilitate study sessions using collaborative learning techniques.

Requirements

  • Must be a student at University of St. Thomas
  • Must demonstrate positive role modeling to peers and undergraduate students
  • In good academic standing
  • Must have attained a grade of B or higher in relevant coursework

Responsibilities

  • Conduct up to two, 2-hour study sessions per week throughout the term using strategies provided by faculty and learned through training.
  • Spend up to 1 hour per week preparing for study sessions, reviewing course materials, planning sessions, and responding to communication from relevant faculty and staff.
  • Meet up to two hours monthly with course faculty to discuss observations and develop sessions to include development of worksheets, case studies, concept maps, etc.
  • Provide extra sessions as necessary (e.g., prior to exams).
  • Keep accurate records (session attendance, etc.) and communicate with faculty and staff promptly.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
