About The Position

PND Engineers is looking for a skilled A/P - Payroll Accountant who enjoys coming to work each day knowing their contributions directly support 140 employees and managers across all of our offices. In this small but vital accounting team, you’ll be a key player—not lost in layers of bureaucracy—with the chance to expand your skills and move upward. You’ll start by mastering our accounts payable and biweekly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and friendly service to staff. From there, you’ll cross-train in accounts receivable, project accounting, and financial reporting—building a broad foundation in all areas of the department. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and making an impact in a close-knit team.

Requirements

  • At least five years of progressive experience in accounts payable and payroll (including quarterly tax prep and workers’ comp audits)
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • High accuracy, analytical thinking, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset
  • A proven track record of stepping up, meeting deadlines, and handling additional responsibility
  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive records
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Project accounting background
  • Hands-on experience with Deltek/Ajera or other project accounting software
