About The Position

PND Engineers is looking for a skilled A/P - Payroll Accountant to join their small but vital accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to be a key player, supporting 140 employees and managers. The position involves mastering accounts payable and biweekly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and providing friendly service. There will be opportunities to cross-train in accounts receivable, project accounting, and financial reporting, building a broad foundation in the department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and making an impact in a close-knit team.

Requirements

• At least five years of progressive experience in accounts payable and payroll
• Experience with quarterly tax preparation
• Experience with workers' compensation audits
• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• High accuracy
• Analytical thinking
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Customer-service mindset
• Proven track record of stepping up, meeting deadlines, and handling additional responsibility
• Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive records
• Valid Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record

• Hands-on experience with Deltek/Ajera or other project accounting software
