About The Position

AVMAC LLC is seeking a qualified and experienced F/A-18 Egress/Environmental Control System (ECS) Mechanic who performs scheduled and unscheduled Organizational-Level (O-Level) maintenance on Marine Corps Legacy F/A-18 aircraft egress systems and environmental control systems in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), applicable Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) technical manuals, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), and established maintenance procedures. The mechanic ensures all maintenance is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with USN/USMC and company quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years aviation maintenance experience with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable F/A-18 experience.
  • Completion of the F/A-18 ECS System "C" School.
  • Must show proof of maintenance and repair experience on Naval/USMC F/A-18 aircraft.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, without technical guidance, to perform all tasks outlined in the F/A-18 Interactive Electronic Maintenance Manual (IETM).
  • Must be familiar with all publications relevant to the maintenance of the F/A-18 and have a thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of the aircraft equipment/systems.
  • Must possess an understanding of the NALCOMIS OOMA maintenance documentation program.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a secret clearance.
  • Must have and be able to maintain all explosive handling/safety qualifications as outlined in applicable publications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled Organizational-Level (O-Level) maintenance on Legacy F/A-18 egress and Environmental Control Systems (ECS) in accordance with NAMP and applicable maintenance manuals.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain ejection seats, canopy systems, and associated egress components to ensure safe aircraft operation.
  • Maintain and service ECS components, including air conditioning, pressurization, and environmental regulation systems.
  • Execute maintenance procedures using F/A-18C/D Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose system discrepancies and implement corrective actions to restore aircraft to mission-capable status.
  • Accurately document maintenance actions, discrepancies, and corrective measures in NALCOMIS OOMA.
  • Apply technical directives, maintenance instructions, and safety procedures relevant to Legacy F/A-18 systems.
  • Conduct functional checks, operational tests, and inspections to verify system performance and compliance.
  • Support flight line operations while strictly adhering to all safety, security, and quality assurance standards.
  • Maintain readiness of assigned aircraft to meet mission requirements.
