A/C Equipment Operator - Houston, TX
About The Position
The A/C Equipment Operator will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of a Computer-Based Building Automation System (CBBAS) and chiller plant, including centrifugal chillers, pumps, and cooling towers. This role requires 24/7 coverage and involves performing routine surveillance, trending, and analysis of system parameters. The operator will also be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment, responding to emergent HVAC/refrigeration calls (including after-hours), and maintaining operating logs, PM records, and alarm histories. The position requires independent judgment for chiller plant start-up/shutdown and sole responsibility for engineering emergent situations outside normal hours.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in A/C Equipment Operator with commercial or hospital experience
- Trade-specific AC/HVAC operator license/certification
- Operation/monitoring of Computer-Based Building Automation System (CBBAS) and chiller plant (centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers)
- Ability to independently troubleshoot/repair
- After-hours emergent response
