Cumberland County government seeks candidates to fill multiple positions as 911 Emergency Dispatchers in it's Windham, Maine communications center. Selected candidates will perform the essential role of assisting the public by taking both emergency and non‐emergency calls for service and dispatching information to the proper responding fire departments, emergency medical services or law enforcement agencies in Cumberland County. This position is full-time with a full benefits package. Base wage starts at $26.68 per hour for candidates with no experience and/or no academy certification. Academy Certified Communications Officers (ACCO) are eligible for recognition of up to ten years of service, or a base wage of up to $32.21 per hour. Shift differentials and stipends for education, designated task assignments, and military service are available to otherwise qualified hires. This range reflects the County’s good-faith estimate of pay for this position at the time of posting. Starting pay is determined based on qualifications and experience in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement.
