8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach
About The Position
Otsego Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and hard-working 8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach to join its coaching staff for the Middle School Winter 2 Session. This position involves coaching and training team members, selecting staff and players, evaluating skills, coordinating logistics, and maintaining knowledge of relevant regulations. The coach will be responsible for developing practice plans to build basketball knowledge and age-appropriate skills, and will work collaboratively with other staff to develop players from grades 6-12. Emphasis will be placed on teaching the game of basketball and developing positive character traits in all athletes.

- Coach and train team members on techniques.
- Select extended staff and team members.
- Evaluate skills of team members.
- Coordinate logistics for events.
- Maintain knowledge of laws or regulations.
- Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
- Coordinate practice plans to build basic basketball knowledge and age-appropriate skill sets.
- Be a productive and cohesive coach on a staff that works to develop all players from grades 6-12.
- Teach and instruct the game of basketball, while working to develop and emphasize positive character traits in all athletes.
Benefits
