About The Position

The Athletic Coach is responsible for organizing, supervising, and instructing student-athletes in the assigned sport while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, skill development, and character. The coach supports the district’s educational mission by providing a safe and positive athletic experience for all participants. This role involves planning and conducting practices, teaching sport-specific skills, promoting good sportsmanship, supervising student-athletes, ensuring compliance with district policies and IHSAA rules, monitoring academic eligibility, communicating effectively with stakeholders, maintaining equipment and records, and modeling professionalism. Additionally, the coach is expected to nurture positive relationships, demonstrate respect, support corporation decisions, work as a team player, and handle sensitive issues tactfully and professionally.

  • Must nurture a positive relationship with super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
  • Must demonstrate respect for super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
  • Must support corporation decisions and direction.
  • Must work as a team player.
  • Must demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Must address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.

Responsibilities
