About The Position

To support the school's mission and the Activities Department Program's mission with the development and implementation of an exemplary 8th Grade Football Program that will effectively provide the best possible educational and athletic/activities experience for each student. Successful candidate must successfully complete a background check, have completed Mandatory Reporter training, and possess a Coaching Authorization issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. This position pays $2960. Bilingual preferred or highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the philosophy and expectations of the Susan Clark and Muscatine Community School District Athletic Department.
• Lead the physical, emotional, and educational development of the student athletes in his/her care through words and actions.
• Organize practices and work with assistant coaches to develop the skills of student-athletes.
• Serve as the primary contact with parents to keep them informed about team-related information.
• Work with the Varsity Head Coach to implement skill development and strategies that are developmentally appropriate for Junior High student athletes while maintaining and increasing enthusiasm for the sport.
• Work with school administration to effectively collect required paperwork.
• Inventory and assign equipment and uniforms as necessary for the sport, with the help of assistant coaches.
