About The Position

STEM Preparatory Academy seeks a Middle School English Language Arts teacher to teach 8th grade during the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher will deliver a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum aligned with Common Core and Tennessee State Standards, help students develop literacy and critical-thinking skills, and create an inclusive, high-achieving classroom. The role includes differentiating instruction and implementing ELL and EE accommodations, partnering with families, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting students as a mentor and role model. The teacher will also administer state assessments and contribute to the school’s culture of excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Education or English.
• Tennessee Teaching License with an English endorsement.
• Strong literacy content knowledge and a passion for helping students develop their voices through reading and writing.
• Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
• Belief that all students can succeed and a “whatever it takes” mindset.
• Ability to motivate, inspire, and lead students toward high academic achievement.
• Team-oriented and collaborative approach, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
