About The Position
The Western School District is currently seeking an 8th Grade ELA Teacher for Western Middle School. This is a full-time position for the 2026-27 school year, requiring an endorsement in Language Arts (BA). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the ELA curriculum to 8th-grade students while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
- Must have an endorsement in Language Arts (BA).
- Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
- Specific subject area knowledge in Language Arts.
- Ability to connect meaningfully with middle school students.
- Ability to problem-solve and seek creative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Delivering the English Language Arts curriculum to 8th-grade students.
- Connecting meaningfully with middle school students.
- Actively participating in a Professional Learning Community (PLC).
- Regularly communicating with students, families, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and seeking creative solutions.
