7/8th Grade Coach - Boys Soccer - Third Quarter Athletics for School Year 2026-2027
About The Position
Sierra Vista Unified School District is seeking passionate, dedicated coaches to join our athletic team for the 7/8th Grade Boys Soccer position for the Third Quarter Athletics for School Year 2026-2027. This is a seasonal position running from January 4 to March 12. The coach will help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem. The coach must demonstrate and apply leadership, integrity, responsibility, self-control, and knowledge of rules and regulations at all times, acting in a responsible and professional manner and setting a good example with a healthy lifestyle.
Requirements
- Similar athletic experience required
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
- Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Have knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.
Nice To Haves
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or Arizona Coaching Certificate - optional
Responsibilities
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
- Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
- Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
- Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
- Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
- Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his sport.
- Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and overseas penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
- Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
- Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.
