About The Position

Sonoran Science Academy East is seeking a dedicated, student-centered 5th Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. As an A+ School of Excellence Award recipient and part of the Sonoran Schools network, we are committed to K-12 STEM education. A background in math and science is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
• Arizona Department of Education Certification preferred.
• Highly Qualified through AEPA/NES testing or equivalent accepted.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required prior to start date.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration and continuous growth.

Nice To Haves

• Background in math and science is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in a K-8 or K-12 classroom setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned daily instruction across all subjects, with a primary focus on math and science.
• Co-construct lesson plans with your grade-level team to ensure consistent learning objectives and outcomes for all students.
• Use data to drive instruction, provide targeted interventions, and extend student learning.
• Build a structured, positive classroom environment with clear routines and high expectations.
• Develop strong, positive relationships with students and families.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and administration.
• Participate in PLCs, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
