About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time 5th grade teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for 13-14 hours per week. The 5th grade class is self-contained, and teachers teach all subjects. In addition, teachers assist or lead 1-2 specials (art, music, PE, and drama). Training and classes begin in August of 2026. Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors are trained to provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. Teachers must be willing to prepare for classes at home and come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment.

Requirements

• Deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organization.
• Timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must complete RCA Safe Child training.
• Must have completed Safe and Sacred training through the diocese (or be assisted to do so).

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
• Ministry in your Catholic parish.
• Teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
