About The Position

Central Kelloggsville Elementary is seeking a 5th Grade Teacher for the 2026-27 School Year. The ideal candidate will be able to teach students the knowledge and skills utilizing the district's designated curriculum and other appropriate learning activities. This includes designing, planning, and implementing lessons based on school, district, state, and/or national standards. The teacher will employ current teaching methods and multiple strategies, address the needs of students of all ability levels with differentiated instruction, and establish and maintain effective classroom management for learning. A positive and safe learning environment for all students is paramount, as is the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students. Collaboration with team members, parents, community members, and partners to improve instructional programs for student success is essential. The role requires good attendance and punctuality, and the ability to perform other duties as assigned by the administrator. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary, as is the ability to relate and work effectively with diverse populations. A commitment to cultural competence and equitable treatment of all individuals within the district is expected.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with ZG Endorsement
  • Ability to teach students the knowledge and skills utilizing the district's designated curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
  • Ability to design, plan and implement lessons based on school, district, state, and/or national standards.
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods, that includes multiple teaching strategies.
  • Ability to address the needs of students of all ability levels with differentiated instruction.
  • High level of organizational skills and ability to establish and maintain effective classroom management for learning.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.
  • Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
  • Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District.
  • Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
