The 4th Grade Teacher will help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals. This role involves meeting and instructing assigned classes, planning a program of study tailored to individual student needs, and creating a conducive learning environment. The teacher will prepare lessons, encourage positive classroom behavior, and guide the learning process towards curriculum goals. A variety of instructional techniques and media will be employed, consistent with the school's resources and student capabilities. The teacher will strive to implement the district's educational philosophy and goals, assess student accomplishments regularly, and provide progress reports. Recognizing and evaluating student learning disabilities and seeking assistance from specialists are also key responsibilities. The teacher will ensure the safety of students, equipment, materials, and facilities, and maintain accurate records. They will assist administration in implementing policies, develop classroom rules, and maintain order fairly. Availability for students and parents outside instructional hours may be required. Planning and supervising assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, maintaining professional competence, and attending staff meetings and committees are also part of the role. Other necessary duties as assigned will be performed.
