About The Position

Most Precious Blood Catholic School in Corpus Christi, Texas, is seeking an elementary teacher to teach 4th grade for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Catholic school teacher will adhere to the NCEA Code of Ethics for the Catholic school teacher, which specifies the attitude and the practice of the teacher in relation to the student, the parent, the community, and the profession. The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 12 credit hours in education.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Agree to work on Catechist Certification.
  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Knowledge of subjects taught, instructional methods and strategies, curriculum differentiation and proficiency in technology applications.
  • Ability to work well with others in the school community.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
  • Certified in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources.
  • Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
