About The Position

The Scientist and Engineer labor category is comprised of Analysts, Engineers, and Scientists with knowledge and skills to apply a variety of analytical techniques to formulate and solve problems; plan for future technologies; conduct research and development; and define requirements for systems. Specific knowledge and expertise may be required in specialized engineering fields as detailed in Section 3.8.1 and 3.8.16 of the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The position is a Scientist and Engineer 4 which requires a Master’s degree in applicable discipline and at least 10 years of experience. Years of experience may be substituted for the lack of an applicable degree. Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise employees at Hurlburt Field and Duke Field, approve time-cards, leave requests, and conduct yearly performance reviews.
  • Maintain regular communication with the 413th Flight Test Squadron customer and attend bi-weekly tag-up meetings to ensure alignment of goals and activities.
  • Manage Canvas and subcontractor staff, support recruiting efforts, and provide feedback for morale events.
  • Advise on and oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including Test Directives (TDs), Statements of Capability (SOC), Methods of Test (MOT), test plans, test reports, and Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs).
  • Ensure proper maintenance and provision of document copies to stakeholders, and support data calls as required.
  • Prepare and present briefings, assist with weekly and monthly reports, and summarize team accomplishments for management and customer review.
  • Ensure all activities and documentation comply with 96 TW and AFTC directives.
  • Enhance team communications, develop cross-team relationships, and foster a positive company culture.
  • Process tuition requests and support employee development.
