About The Position

Mercer is seeking a talented 401(k) Operations Analyst to join the Mercer Wise team. This role, based in any U.S. Mercer office, is a hybrid position requiring at least three days a week in the office. The team operates as a fully delegated fiduciary for clients' corporate 401(k) plans, with team members possessing 3-8 years of tenure and 5-25 years of industry experience. The analyst will report to the Director of Operations & Implementation and serve as the day-to-day client contact for their assigned book of business.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience in 401(k) administration and a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance OR a minimum of five years of experience in 401(k) administration in operations or call center.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with 401(k) record keeping of at least five years.
  • Familiarity with Defined Contribution Plans, including annual testing and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills, clear and effective communication, both written and oral; ability to multi-task.
  • QKA Designation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily client inquiries, ensuring payrolls are processed and funded timely.
  • Provide operational support and efficiencies for client implementations and client service, adhering to procedures.
  • Review and improve procedures for greater efficiency.
  • Research and resolve inquiries and issues within designated Mercer standards.
  • Assist clients with reviewing communications and legal notices.
  • Work with clients on the administration of the plans' annual testing and reporting, including Form 5500.
  • Utilize MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, on a regular basis.
