About The Position

This internship involves coordinating youth programs, with a focus on reaching underserved audiences. The intern will promote the 4-H Program within the organization and to potential members, organize and teach workshops on personal and professional topics, and perform duties as directed by 4-H Educator Staff within UW-Extension in Fond du Lac County. The role includes presenting program evaluations to the 4-H Leaders Association Executive Board, participating in performance reviews, and preparing media releases for Extension program events.

Requirements

  • Organizational, leadership, oral & written communications skills
  • Ability to work well with adult volunteers and youth
  • Evidence of successful leadership in school, 4-H, or the community
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends
  • Access to transportation (adequate to fulfill position responsibilities)
  • Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability

Nice To Haves

  • 4-H experience desirable
  • Twenty-one years and older preferred
  • Two-three years of college/technical school preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate youth programs in effort to reach traditionally underserved audiences
  • Promote/market the 4-H Program within the organization as well as to potential members
  • Organize and teach workshops in personal and professional areas of interest
  • Perform duties within UW-Extension in Fond du Lac County as directed by 4-H Educator Staff
  • Present ongoing evaluation of programs to 4-H Leaders Association Executive Board
  • Initiate and participate in a formal review of performance and growth within the position
  • Prepare media releases related to Extension program events/activities

Benefits

  • Salary: $4,000
  • $1000 Scholarship at the successful completion of 12 weeks of summer programming per the signed contract
