About The Position

The 3PL Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the order fulfillment team in a warehouse environment or multiple warehouse environments, depending upon location. This position is also responsible for distributing and monitoring workload, motivating the team to ensure orders are picked, packed and shipped in accordance with daily fulfillment guidelines. The 3PL Manager is responsible for leading communications with the customer and providing weekly reporting and metrics to management.

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of warehouse experience, preferably in fulfillment.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience; experience managing multiple teams simultaneously preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, to all levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs/software.
  • Standing and/or walking six (6) or more hours per workday; sitting two (2) or more hours per workday.
  • Ability to bend, reach and move about the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to push up to 450 pounds up ramps.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)/safety gear must be worn as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures orders, fulfillment, inbound and outbound are processed per applicable policies and procedures; coordinates deliveries and pick-ups with local agents and carriers.
  • Communicates directly with the customer regarding escalated issues concerning incoming shipments, order issues, property/material damage, etc.
  • Organizes workload throughout the department to maximize efficiency and meet Company goals on a daily basis.
  • Ensures equipment is maintained and current with any updates and/or system upgrades.
  • Completes necessary paperwork and systems procedures associated with daily activities; maintains a full understanding of internal systems (i.e., Warehouse Management System).
  • Assists and/or leads the team in researching and resolving pick and ship reported errors; initiates efforts to prevent reoccurrence by addressing the root cause.
  • Provides department, productivity and efficiency reporting on a weekly basis; assists with SEKO Corporate and Billing Department to ensure timely and accurate customer billing and payment receipt.
  • Maintains ongoing communication and coordination between area supervisors, where applicable; provides coverage as needed.
  • Ensures the training of new hires and existing employees on processes and procedures is completed; works with supervisors and/or existing leads to develop lead personnel to assist with hands-on training of existing and new employees.
  • Responsible for ensuring the hours tracking and approval of temporary agency employees is completed; collects ongoing feedback regarding performance of temporary employees; reviews temporary agency invoices for billing accuracy and/or verifies accuracy of agency billing.
  • Works with management and direct supervisory personnel to monitor ongoing staffing needs to plan accordingly for increases and/or decreases in staffing levels; ensures processes and procedures for adding and/or decreasing staff counts are followed.
  • Monitors overall team productivity; drives continuous productivity improvement through process enhancements and coaching; provides necessary one-on-one coaching of direct reports.
  • Responsible for the coordination, management and completion of special warehouse projects at the direction of management.
  • Supervises the execution of weekly/quarterly/yearly cycle counts.
  • Helps to maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse environment in accordance with department, Company and, where applicable, customer standards.
  • Ensures adequate supervisory staff is available to opens or close the warehouse at the beginning and/or end of assigned shifts or outside normal working hours; assists with coverage as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned by management.
  • Oversees multiple operations teams servicing different customer accounts.
  • Manages assigned direct personnel; provides required training and oversight; ensures goals are met.
  • Assists direct supervisory staff in managing and facilitating the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and associated areas.
  • Ensures adequate staffing coverage for transactional compliance and to ensure necessary levels of production/business operations.
  • Directs the program for training and supervision of assigned personnel, including temporary agency employees when applicable.
