3D CAD Designer/Drafter
About The Position
Schebler Company is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer with Autodesk Inventor experience to join their Chimney Systems Division in Bettendorf. This role involves collaborating with engineering, production, and project teams to design systems used in complex industrial and infrastructure projects, including industrial facilities and large-scale data centers across North America. The company has a 137-year legacy and is an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, offering employees a share in the business's success. Recent graduates from CAD, drafting, or engineering technology programs are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field required
- 1–3 years of CAD design experience preferred
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience with SolidWorks or Creo may also be considered
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and technical drawings from customer specifications
- Develop submittal drawings and coordination models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Produce manufacturing-ready drawings for fabrication and production teams
- Review designs for accuracy, quality, and manufacturability
- Work with engineers, project managers, and customers to refine designs
- Support projects used in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, and data center infrastructure
