About The Position

Bardel Entertainment is seeking a 3D Animation Supervisor to lead the animation team on a TV featurette. This role is responsible for guiding performance, quality, and consistency across all shots, supervising the animation department from blocking through final. The supervisor will ensure character performance, timing, and storytelling align with the creative vision, working closely with the Director, Production, and other department supervisors. The goal is to maintain continuity, provide clear feedback, and support artists in achieving high-quality, production-ready animation within schedule. The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience in animation for TV or feature pipelines, a deep understanding of character performance, and the ability to balance creative direction with production efficiency.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience as a 3D Animation Supervisor in a production environment.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates extensive experience using Maya for animation.
  • Strong understanding of traditional 3D animation principles.
  • High-level polish in animation, with strong character acting skills (e.g., comedy, subtle expressions, dynamic movement).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to promote solutions, share knowledge, and incorporate feedback effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in both creative and technical aspects of Animation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all Animators with respect to their weekly assignments, ensuring the assigned style is followed and maintained throughout production.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment and assigning animation tasks.
  • Ensure that Directors’ notes and revisions are followed and integrated in line with the production’s style and vision.
  • Review and approve all production creative materials (e.g., posing, animated scenes in sequences) before submission to the Director/Client.
  • Address any creative or technical challenges related to animation and ensure that solutions align with the overall production goals.
  • Ensure animation assignments are completed within project deadlines and milestones, in collaboration with the Line Producer, Animation Director, and Production department.
  • Work with all departments within the pipeline to ensure smooth integration of animations into the overall production process.
  • Share knowledge and participate in department meetings to ensure alignment with overall project goals.
  • Participate in the recruiting process as required for your project.
