About The Position

WM is seeking a 310T Mechanic to join their team. This role offers a safer work environment, career progression, stability, and a focus on employee well-being. The mechanic will be responsible for fixing trucks and equipment that service millions of customers across North America, working on diesel and potentially CNG trucks. The position involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various vehicle systems, estimating repair costs, performing work within Standard Labor Repair Times, responding to breakdowns, conducting safety checks, completing paperwork, assisting senior mechanics, and reviewing driver inspection reports. The role also requires maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Licensed Truck and Coach Mechanic
  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • A valid drivers license, with an acceptable driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assisting senior 310T Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
