310T Mechanic
About The Position
Elliott Coach Lines has a current opening for a 310T Licensed Technician (Mechanic) in its Breslau shop, with potential additional responsibilities in Elmira. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, this role is responsible for the daily preventative and post-incident repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles, including School Buses and civilian class vehicles. The mechanic will diagnose and perform all repairs for mechanical issues, maintain a strong sense of customer service, and interact with various stakeholders such as School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics, Apprentices, and Governmental Agencies.
Requirements
- Possess and maintain in good standing a valid 310T License
- Valid Driver’s License
- Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions
- Ability to work in team-based, collaborative work
Nice To Haves
- Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices, particularly within the School Bus industry
Responsibilities
- Perform Brake and Safety Inspections and carry out preventative maintenance
- Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month
- Perform service calls and cold starts as required
- Ensure knowledge of and adherence to safety policies
- Perform additional vehicle repairs as needed
- Adhere to compliance-based regulations from Company, Federal, Provincial, and Municipal perspectives
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with the supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace
