About The Position
Measure and cut fabric at a sufficient pace to keep the cutter working continuously. Lay fabrics according to the marker info, and established spreading guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 0 – 1 years in similar field
- Problem solving, positive attitude, teamwork, dependability, initiative, accurate
- Must be able to stand for duration of shift
- Able to lift heavy bundles up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Process markers following priorities set on your inbox
- Gathering material from location or from material handler (in the case of material handler absence)
- Measuring and preparing table for cutting
- Lifting rolls of material into cradle
- Set up machine with lengths and number of layers
- Follow all guidelines for equipment preventative maintenance
- Follow all safety guidelines in place
- Be able to identify good side vs bad side, material flaws, and different color shades of fabric
- Partner with the cutting operator to set up spreads to the cutting machine
- Maintaining scrap bins
- Rotating stock materials
- Other duties as assigned
