About The Position
Betts Precision is hiring an entry-level member of its CNC support team at its Alsip, Illinois location. The role is intended for candidates with little or no CNC experience who want to begin a career in CNC manufacturing. Team members work in a department such as saw, tool crib, assembly, polishing, maintenance, or shipping. Based on productivity, work ethic, and attitude, employees may have the opportunity to attend Donson’s seven-week training bootcamp and progress toward a CNC machinist role in the lathe, mill, or EDM departments. Betts Precision is described as a family-owned medical device manufacturer focused on providing employees a safe place to work and opportunities to build technical and personal skills. The position is on the night shift, Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with the opportunity for overtime.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Two years of job experience; part-time or summer jobs are acceptable for recent graduates.
- Be punctual and maintain an excellent attendance record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 90% of the day.
- Ability to bend, twist, turn, and reach for up to 100% of the day.
- Ability to work in a shop environment with continuous exposure to potentially hazardous metalworking machinery and equipment, loud noises, dust, mist, oils, and solvents.
