About The Position

Lake Norman Charter is seeking a qualified 2nd grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at its brand-new Lake Norman Charter Elementary School West campus, opening in August 2026. Lake Norman Charter (LNC) is a K-12 public charter school committed to providing a rigorous and comprehensive educational environment focused on college readiness, leadership, and social responsibility. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required
Possesses or qualified to apply for NC DPI Teaching License in curriculum area or grade levels of direct instruction

Responsibilities

Demonstrates strong knowledge of subject area/grade level content and applies effective instructional strategies.
Plans, prepares, and delivers engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of each student.
Integrates leadership, service, and character education into classroom instruction.
Assesses and monitors student learning using a variety of formative and summative methods.
Ensures that all constructive feedback, grading, and reporting are completed within the school’s established timeframe.
Promotes the safety, well-being, and personal growth of all students.
Implements effective classroom management practices and positive behavior supports.
Participates in the development and implementation of IEPs, 504 plans, and intervention strategies.
Provides academic and social-emotional guidance to students and families.
Ensures the safety of students through supervision at all times.
Collaborates effectively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff.
Participates actively in professional development (PD) and training courses, faculty meetings, and action research activities.
Engages in reflective practice and peer collaboration.
Contributes to curriculum development and assessment design.
Maintains confidentiality and adheres to district guidelines.
Responds effectively in adapting to changing needs, schedules, or school initiatives.
Supports and models the values and expectations of Lake Norman Charter.
Builds and fosters an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative classroom environment.
Participates in school events, extracurricular activities, and community initiatives.
